In relation to this, there are programs running on INFORMIX-ESQL Version 7.24.UC7. My question is will these programs run normally with the new DB server version or do I need to install the INFORMIX-Client SDK Version 2.40.UC1. BTW, this cd came in with the IDS2000 cd. What are the other things to look out for when migrating the DB to the new version.. First PLEASE do not post MIME to this list, it is text only. Your 7.24 apps will continue to operate but will not be able to take advantage of new features. If they are dynamic they will not be able to access any tables or columns with long names (ie >18 chars) or any new or user defined or inherited data types. It is painless to install the latest SDK and recompile. Why not do so. Art S.
