How do I get the version of Client and Server?

Hello everyone, Please let me know if it's possible to get the version of the client and/or server. I would like to be able to do this using a scripting language such as korn shell (running through MKS toolkit on a Windows platform). If you don't know how to get it using the scripting language, but know how to do it with C, please let me know. Thank you. Alex Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.

The server version you are connecting to is easy:
Use dbaccess or sqlcmd in your script:
dbaccess sysmaster - <<EOF
select DBINFO("version","major")||'.'||DBINFO("version","minor")
from systables where tabid = 1;
EOF

Hi All,
I think that with most Informix executables you can run
program -V
... and it will show the version. For example:
dbaccess -V
oninit -V
onstat -V
...
Enjoy,
