error -1363 new era 2.00/2.11 when closing modal popup
Posted in 1996
i'd like to solicit some help from the informix new era user group... i'm working on a project using new era as a development tool. all of us developing this are "greenhorns" with new era, and we're running into a problem we can't seem to get resolved (even via informix tech support). what happens is an error -1363 is generated after a modal popup window is closed... this error will not occur when the code is run thru the debugger, only when run as pcode or c. i've created a small set of programs that demonstrate the problem and placed them on an anonymous FTP server for those "brave" enough to look at this. to retrieve, ftp to: ftp.secure-net.net. login as 'ftp' and use email as password. cd to the 'pub/outgoing' directory and retrieve the file 420997_3.exe. (using binary mode). extract this self-expanding zip into a temporary directory. use the '-d' option to get the directory tree recreated. set your DBPATH variable to point to this directory. you can create a project and recompile if you like. to duplicate the error, use the referral button on the initial menu to "modify" a referral. once the referral is chosen (using "SEARCH"), click continue to "view" the referral data. click 'exit' to exit the referral screen, and then another exit to close the selection window. you should get the -1363 immediately after the function pat_sel ends and the next statement from the calling program takes over. this error does not occur when run thru the debugger. whatever we're doing to cause this error also breaks 2.11 under Win95. Fglgo crashes to the point where the system must be rebooted before it will run again. in order to use this case under 2.11, a slight change must be made to 'patsel.wif'. Under the LBpat_table object SELECT event, change the numbers 33,56 to 34,57. This because 2.11 causes our listbox populate routine to pad with a blank for some reason. thanks in advance to all who have the time to help with this...
