Fatal error in shared memory creation
Posted in 1999

I tried installing Informix Workgroup Server 7.30TC8 on Sun Solaris 7.
i have made a user and group informix, set the path and informixdir-var,
unpacked and installed the informix files, changed the onconfig
(rootpath, servernum, dbservername) but when i try to initialize the
server with oninit, i just get: Fatal error in shared memory creation. I
have checked the settings with the onmonitor program, but everything is
alright.
Any idea what i made wrong or forgot?

Check your $INFORMIXDIR/release/....... directory.
There you'll find ONLINE_ver.release file with all platform specific
settings.

Check your release notes for possible changes in operating system
params. Also post your message log, ONCONFIG and 'oninit -ivy' output
for detailed review.
