Re: intermittent -710 error

Hi Dianne, well I think I can remember a simelar problem on our site. This behavior appeared whenever we did an ALTER TABLE (or an operation building a new table like 'ALTER INDEX TO CLUSTER', ...) and this table was part of a foreign key structure (in our of course nearly every table has a parent). When you re-prepare the statement that failed, it *can* work again; in fact whether it works or not depends on how many foreign keys there are (the re-prepare can fail over and over again, getting -710 on different tables each time, until all tables in the foreign key-chain are touched).
