I wonder if there is a trouble database where Informix keeps the
problem and questions that people has posed to it?
Anyway, I have here a problem that I would have loved to run against
the database. The SQL statement in question is:
DELETE FROM emp_daywage
WHERE pstore = 46 AND payday < '01/12/94'
this give a -240 could not delete a row
and a -126 ISAM error: bad row ID.
Now, we go into ISQL and run the following,
SELECT count(*) FROM emp_daywage
WHERE pstore = 46 AND payday < '01/12/94'
this gives a result of : 6
However, listig the rows,
SELECT * FROM emp_daywage
WHERE pstore = 46 AND payday < '01/12/94'
gives a message of "No rows found"!!!
Gosh, how can this be?! Anyway, I have only managed to obtain
the result of tbcheck -cI and tbcheck -pK before the database
has been dropped, and recreated. I am glad the error have ot
happened since.
I know there is really too little information to work with, but I
like to hear from people that have encountered similar errors relate
their experience, and the results/conclusion that they have.
My aim is to be able to identify a/some possible cause(s), and hence
be able to enforce certain preventio measures. I really hate to be
helpless.
