As far as I know the $99 special offer ran out on 31.Dec 1999. At Intraware (http://www.intraware.com/informix) the IDS Linux Edition 7.31.UC10-1 is at a price of $300 per user with a minimum user-count of 1. In my opinion this also is a little bit too much, regarding to the missing funcionallity on linux compared to other OS-Versions. But if you see the price eg. for HPUX ($1500 with minimum 5 users=$7500) the linux-version is still a good deal (and it runs quite stable). Be sure that you have a kernel > 2.2.10 and glibc > 2.1.1. otherwise you will run in problems. About 4GL I don't have any experiences, we use the client-SDK with perl and php3 on our web-platform and from NT-Clients with Borland's Delphi. (client-SDK is free). Price for 4GL on intraware is about $300 per user.... Hope that helps Martin
Note that the $199 offer for IDS.2000 on Linux was just extended to the Foundation.2000 product as well! Perhaps shortly they will drop the IDS.2000 price to %99? Is anyone listening in Menlo Park? I received this offer from IntraWare via email and it does not show on their WEB Site. It says call them at 877-822-5927 (US & Canada or 181-610-6003 Int'l) and ask for it. This is a short-time, once per customer, single user license. Art S. How do you use the client-SDK with Delphi? I think there must be a way to use the SDK and to not use Borland's BDE.
