RE: ODBC connection time speedup

Tim We had the same problem but appear to have overcome most of the problem. Informix support told us that one of the problems was the authentication call to the NT domain. While a BDC was local, it was overloaded and the PDC was elsewhere on the LAN. We addressed the following: 1. Created a local PDC with as few users as possible in the NT User Manager. 2. Have nothing else running on the database server and plenty of memory. 3. Make sure the PDC is not overloaded. (Our PDC is Terminal Server edition which is probebly not wise). Using Informix ODBC 3.30 driver (or Intersolv 3.10/11) and IDS 7.30TC9 on NT 4.0 it is taking approximately 20 seconds to complete this call. I'm currently not passing any options and using NT login authentification. TIA Tim Gilbert
