They seem to be too long for normal access number types What is your experience with Openlink and these datatypes? How does Openlink handle them? There are potentially quite a few problems with Informix money types. There is no SQL_MONEY taype in ODBC. Therefore, any Informix money types usually get converted into decimal. Further, by default, Informix decimals are created by default as (16,2) and the ODBC standard only supports decimal (15,2). You might have a idea of the potential problems ..... Sometimes Informix money will get converted to text, which can be a real problem. This shouldn't really happen: it's a problem within the driver. At best, Informix money will come back as decimal, and at least it can be manipulated numerically. There may be some precision problems as well (above). We saw these problems a while back. Our driver ("SQL-Retriever") now copes with them. Take a look at http://www.vision.sco.com/products/sqlretriever/ for more information and a downloadable eval Allan Gould (allang@sco.com)
