I see many references to Oracle. I see one for Informix. I note that Oracle, amongst other topics seem to be the main thrust of your posting. I note that Informix is mentioned in an off hand "PS" statement. Further this post script manages to reference numerous other DBMS' including your main topic, Oracle. I used to DBA an Oracle installation. I currently DBA an Informix install- ation. I am willing to accept cash for either activity. ( Please no attacks on my scruples. ) However, I find that the Informix folks are much more person- able than the Oracle folks. There is considerable sentiment on this new group against the attitudes and tactics which Oracle has consistently demonstrated. I would like to suggest that in the future you address this news group with general DBMS or Informix specific issues and leave the Oracle stuff for the Oracle new group. BTW, if this is the harshest response that you recieve from this news group, count yourself lucky. I have definitely seen worse. -Later Kevin -- +------------------------------+-------------------------+----------------+ | Kevin McHugh - SW Engineer | mkmchu@fax.cs.mci.com | | MCI Telecommunications Corp. | (719) 535-5278 | +------------------------------+-------------------------+----------------+ | ALL RIGHTS RESERVED. | | This posting is copyright and may be used only for the purposes | | of professional study.
