update statistics high/medium and performance

I found when I execute update statistics high for the index columns, the performance is better than medium, but the execute plan is the same, do anybody know the same SQL executed more quickly when using high mode for update statistics?
One possible reason is that running the HIGH has to read every key which would cause the engine to put inefficient indexes onto the BTREE Cleaner's hit list causing the cleaner to compress the index.
