How about using Powerbuilder to maintain an offline database & then import/upload to the primary Informix Database? Terry: VMARK Software has a middleware product that makes it very easy to connect PowerBuilder to Informix. Our HyperSTAR product provides an ODBC or API interface from PowerBuilder to Informix. Our product does not require any additional network or db transport protocols (i.e. I-NET). Also, once you have developed you PowerBuilder application, it can run against any other db (Oracle, Sybase, Ingres, etc) without change (providing the db tables are the same). In fact, you can develop a PowerBuilder application that accesses multiple disparate db's simultaneously (if necessary).
