IDS error -- onmonitor

We recently installed IDS 11.5 and I am working to set up the appropriate environment variables to use the DEMO database. I have started the engine using onmonitor. However, I am getting a "WARNING: Network Down" message in the onmonitor status line. In addition, the response time of onmonitor is extremely slow. I'm pretty sure I am missing something in the environment variable set-up. Can anyone tell me what the problem is?
Lois - Which operating system are you using? If you are using a unix or linux os can you post the output of 'env' (ran as user Informix) your $ONCONFIG file, and your sqlhosts file? MM
Our OS is Solaris 9 Sparc. While compiling the information you requested, I
examined the sqlhosts file yet again. The sqlhosts file created during the
installation of IDS 11.5 looked like this:
demo_ids ontlitcp FQDN.for.colostate.edu.machine 9088
I had initially created my own sqlhosts file that included a shared memory
component. The default file above is missing this entry. So I reverted to my
original plan (with the shm component) -- and the problem was solved.
Thank you for your request -- it led to the solution!
