Has anyone else had issues with installing the Informix database downloads from IBM to Red Hat Linux? I'm still trying to get the details, but my understanding is that there is an issue using the Native Packaging. Has anyone already encountered and solved this issue? Thanks! I've downloaded and installed copies of 9.40 and 10.00 on RH AS 3 and RH AS 4 a few times. Just used the IFX installer program as recommended with no probs. -- Bob -------------- Original message -------------- From: "kate" <kate@iiug.org> > Has anyone else had issues with installing the Informix database downloads > from IBM to Red Hat Linux? There are SOME known issues with using RH5 with some of the latest IDS versions. It seems that RH somehow disabled the +<n> option of tail that is used to skip the first <n> lines of a file/stream and that option (tail +4) is used in many of the IDS scripts. Specifically we've seen this one in the ALARMPROGRAM scripts which would not affect installation, but ... you may be running into that one or something similar. (Informed IBM support internally about this just this week, so there's no PMR.)
