Check for corrupt blocks?

We had a problem with informix 7.31 where an update that normally takes milliseconds was hanging all of a sudden and blocking other sessions. We killed the blocker and everything would be fine. Two seconds later, the block would occur again on the same table, same row. We continued to kill sessions, bounce app servers, etc for about an hour. Finally, we decided to unload the row from the table and then re-insert it back into the table. This worked - no more blocking locks. It has been running fine for almost 24 hours without any issues. This application has been running for years without this kind of issue and there has not been any changes recently. Could this be a corrupt block on the table or one of it's indexes? I am fairly new to informix. Is there a way to check for this in informix?
Hi,
Use the oncheck utility to check all the data and index in the database.
Oncheck -cI and -cD should do the job.
