Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.

This should be easy to solve in version 7.3 with the inline case
statement and possibly with decode as well. You find documentation for
this at http://www.informix.com/answers in the SQL syntax manual.
In earlier versions I have no better idea than a special stored
procedure for each function which probably wouldn't help you much.
