Reading a 7.11 shmem.xxxxx file
Posted in 1996
When online 7.11 crashes and there is a message in my online log such as:
18:40:26 Assert Failed: Internal Error - Segmentation Violation
18:40:26 Who: Session(8537, informix@smith, 6832, 45)
Thread(8809, sqlexec, dcb3b94, 3)
18:40:26 Results: OnLine must abort
18:40:26 Action: Reinitialize shared memory
18:40:26 See Also: /tmp/af.eebcee0f, shmem.eebcee0f.0
18:41:25 rsdebug.c, line 3650, thread 8809, proc id 1443, Segmentation Violati
Question is: how do you read the "shmem.eebcee0f.0" file? Or is it a
waste of time? I have a 40 GB database and periodically the engine just
crashes. Any clues?
Thanks
