Hi, I need help in running queries on linked infomix datables in access. I have a table in an infomix server which i have linked using ODBC. I can view the data when i open the table. However, when i run a query with a criteria set on a date field, i run into an error. This is when i key in the SQL in the format as required by access, i would run into an ODBC error:"[Intersolv][ODBC Informix Driver][Infomix] String to date conversion error". This i have figure out to be that the ODBC requires the date to be a string of the form 'yyyy-mm-dd'. However if i follow this format, the query will run and after some time access will return "Data Type Mismatch" A query works if i use pass through query, but i require the query to be run on a few local access table which has fields link to the informix fields. (so i can't just run pass through queries). And i also can't store my local table in the infomix server. Can anyone help me please? Thanks a lot. -----------== Posted via Deja News, The Discussion Network ==---------- http://www.dejanews.com/ Search, Read, Discuss, or Start Your Own
Have you tried changing the DBDATE variable for your Informix ODBC connection? Try running setnet32 and changing the DBDATE variable to whatever you need e.g. mdy4/ etc. HTH rd_devil@my-dejanews.com wrote: > Hi, > > I need help in running queries on linked infomix datables in access. > > I have a table in an infomix server which i have linked using ODBC.
