Newbie: how to restore dumpfile on windows server

Hi, I don't know informix. I need to restore an Ontape dumpfile on my windows based pc. I have installed Informix server, but I do not know which is the correct procedure to use. Can anyone help me?

Hello. First I would tell you: dump files are not backups, and untape does not generate or import dump files, only backups. Since you did not tell which platform your backup was made, I must tell you that a database restore is platform specific (as any other RDBMS backup). So, if your backup was made on linux, and you are trying to restore it on windows, it will fail.
