4gl version 7.2 connection to ids 11 ?

Hi all, I was wondering if there is a chance to use old rds environment towards a newer database. I have some old 4gl programs, that actually runs on 7.2 version: informix@MyHost:~$ fglgo -v INFORMIX-4GL Version 7.20.UD7 Pcode Version 602 and was experimenting with an ids 11.x leone informix /opt/IBM/informix >dbaccess -version Program Name: dbaccess Build Version: 11.70.UC8DE The tcp ports used by the new ids are 9088/9089 while the old ports were 1526 and so on. For what I've read in several files the sqlturbo has been removed, so I'm quite lost on if ( and how ) this will work. Can someone of you enlight me on this ? Thanks in advance Pierluigi

Replying to my self, for others. The only thing is needed to connect to a new db for an old client is to set the correct port in /etc/services ( 9088 ) and configure everything as it should be for a normal connection. Thanks anyway !! Pierluigi

PerLuigi, I have connected pre-IBM Informix real-life applications to Informix 12.10 without any kind of problem So yes, this is possible, and you did it!
