On line engine won't start

Help,
I have tried to bring up the online engine with oninit -vy. I get the =
following message. Could someone please tell me what the problem might
be. I am very new to Informix.
exec(): 0509-036 Cannot load program oninit because of the following =
errors: =20
0509-023 Symbol kaio_rdwr in /usr/lib/libc.a is not defined. =
=20
0509-023 Symbol listio in /usr/lib/libc.a is not defined. =
=20
0509-023 Symbol acancel in /usr/lib/libc.a is not defined. =
=20
0509-023 Symbol iosuspend in /usr/lib/libc.a is not defined. =
=20
0509-022 Cannot load library libc.a[aio.o]. =
=20
0509-026 System error: Cannot run a file that does not have a =
valid form
at. =
=20
We were trying to add space the /usr logical volume, could this have =
created the problem? can you help me fix it.

Looks like you trashed /usr/lib or at least some of the shared
libraries housed there, such as libc.so. On many systems /usr/lib is a
mirror of or link to /lib. If the file /lib/libc.so exists try setting
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$INFORMIXDIR/lib:$INFORMIXDIR/lib/esql:/liband see what happens if things are OK then that is the answer and you
will have to rebuild /usr/lib.
