What Software Is Needed For Cursors?

I'm very new to Informix and I was wondering if anyone had any tips on running cursors in Informix. What software will I need on my computer? Specifically, I like to use Advanced Query Tool (AQT), but I don't think it understands the Informix syntax for cursors. Thanks!
