sysuser db

I am trying to find out any information on this database. It seems to have only 1 table, sysauth. I have looked in a number of Infomix manuals but can't seem to find any info on it. Also, I am running 9.4 on HP-UX with network connections. Most of the clients are running 4gl programs on the same server as the on-line instance. We have a large number of batch jobs that run via the cron as the informix id. I am trying to use a different Unix id for this task. My SysAdmin has created a new id without a=20 password. However, when I try to run any 4gl programs or dbaccess using this id I get a message "Incorrect password or user xxx is not known on the Database server". Is there any way around this besides giving this new id a password. Thanks in advance for any responses....Mick

Sysuser is documented in the 9.40 release notes. Hi Mick Servers must be trusted (at unix level - hosts.equiv - and informix level - sqlhosts) User must exist on both informix and app boxen, and must have connect and table-level permisions on the DB: grant connect to <foobar>; grant select (and update or insert or delete) on <table #1> to<your-user>; grant select on <table #2> to <your-user>; and so on... also check the settings of environment variables for this user Hope it helps.
