Upper function with informix online 7.22.UC2

I found somewhere that the UPPER en LOWER function is supported since version 7.30. I there a possibility to add a C function to our informix server 7.22 which performs the upper function? Where can I find the code for this function and how do I have to install it? The OS of our informix server is Solaris 2.6. Thanks in advance, Philippe Requil' Falcon Automation Belgium.
