error 934 - resolved - again

A long time ago ...... Recently tried to create three synonyms from one engine to another. Two of them worked fine, but the third kept getting a 934 (connection no longer valid) the FIRST time it was used, but not in subsequent usages. Turns out that the problem (I didn't find it) was that the table in question had two varchar fields which were indexed. Changing these fields to char made all the difference. (We had been warned in the past not to index varchar fields - now we know why).
