Informix-Backup to file

Hello, is it possible to make a backup to file with Informix Online 7.x. What have I to do? Thanks Otto-J'rg

but there is a unsupported workarround for that:
set TAPESIZE to 2 GB. Whenever ontape prompt for a new tape, copy your
current
file to another file name. After, press enter.
In case of a restore, you have to copy your files to your TAPEDEV-File
for each prompt of ontape.

Or just use symbolic links. Point TAPEDEV to a symbolic link which in turn
points to an empty file with the correct permissions. On tape change rename
the file to a new name or just remove the link, create a new, empty, file
the same name the link already points to, or some other name and create a
new link the same name as TAPEDEV holds pointing to the new file. This
tends to be faster and you can compress the file in the background while the
new file is being written if you desire.
