We are using Informix 4GL 6.0
I don't think I'm using CAST expression (like atoi() or any others in C) ?
Or maybe, am I trying to do something that internally using CAST expression
?
But any way, I'll check it out to ensure that I'm not using CAST expression.
Thank you,

No, you aren't using CAST expressions. You'd have to be using
NewEra to be using one of them.
If you're getting the unknown message, it probably means your
installation is not quite correct, and that you are using the
i4gl programmer's environment to do the compilation. If you
used the c4gl command line to do the compilation, you would not
get the error message. Somehow, your 4gl.iem error message file
got corrupted (overwritten) with a version that does not contain
message +4076. So don't spend time on CASTs. Do think about
copying 4gl.iem off the I4GL distribution media into $INFORMIXDIR/msg.
