This is also done in development situations. For example if the admin development id for a project is "gesap" and the uid is 300, then often the gid is also 300. Anything that reduces complexity and creates a predictable pattern is good. There is no reason, in this case, that a uid of 300 and a gid of 561 would not work, but, come on, things are complicated enough!. In general increased complexity and lack of consistent naming conventions leads to increased errors. This is not religious, its practical. > > David
