We are using Informix-4GL for a large system, and are trying to
redesign our build system to make use of the VPATH capability of
GNU Emacs (3.62). This can help us to get the correct dependencies when
common shared sources are referenced in places other than the current
working directory (in a make).
In our C modules, if we have an #include "xxx.h" and the file xxx.h is
not in the current directory, the directories given by the -I switch
to cc can find them. We thought that was also true when using an -I
switch on a c4gl line in our makefiles, when there is a:
GLOBALS
"xxx.4gl"
type of statement. Unfortunately, this does not seem to work. We get
an error message (4306) that it cannot find the file xxx.4gl.
Are we missing something, or are we dead in the water?
