Hi Martin,
just because I can't see any reply to your question, I will try
to answer a few of them.
Normally, if you don't use "onspaces" directly, your WGS created
its chunks in a file system ( \\IFMXDATA\\... ). I cannot imagine
that Informix offers two different partition structures. Cooked
files like the WGS ones are also available in the IDS system. =
Therefore I think you can keep your old dbspaces but before you
will try it, I'm sure you will create several backups.
The old configuration file is okay, but 7.3 offers a few additional
parameters. Try to find the new parameters and insert the new ones
into the old configuration file.
I have no idea, if PDQ was really disabled in the WGS. I've never
tried it. But additional features are available in 7.3.
After you made your modifications you should start up your system
by oninit ( unless you have a NT-system, start your service on NT ).
When the system comes up invoke "dbaccess" and call "update statistics".
Don't forget to read your Installation Notes before you migrate.
Bye
