Dear,
I've been using ESQL/C with Informix WebKit on Online Engine 7.x.
The URL containing how to use WebKit is...
http://www.informix.com
/informix/products/dlprod/webkits/esqdocs/esqtoc1.htm
Coding hard, I have 3 radical questions.
1. WHERE clause with wild cards.
The SELECT statements with WHERE clause are most common-used SQL.
I'm suprised that "SELECT * FROM table WHERE field matches '*string*'"
doesn't work correctly. The table contains 8bit chars.
In east Asia, 2-bytes makes one complex char and the MSBs of
the 2-bytes are 1. In other words, 8bits instead of 7bits(ASCII)
are fully used to express a char. It's somewhat similar to
Western Latin-1(ISO-8859-1) char set.
I finally found that double-* instead of single-* are working
properly(WHERE field matches '**string**').
What's problem?!
2. Environment variables for WebKit cgi.
Because of some nasty reasons, my cgi gateway was launched from
prescript (it's a shell script which contains some *important*
environment vars for the cgi and then fork() the *real* cgi).
But I think it isn't good. All of coders may not like it. :(
Could I get rid of it?
The URL containing the contents of prescript is...
http://www.informix.com
/informix/products/dlprod/webkits/esqdocs/pre-scriptec.htm
How ridiculous the WebKit is...
3.
To run the source of ESQL/C with WebKit requires LD_LIBRARY_PATH env vars
and so on. So I made an shell script which contains LD_LIBRARY_PATH(and other
vars).
At least, I think that LD_LIBRARY_PATH could be removed by using link options
such as '-R/usr/informix/lib/esql'.
But it won't work. Below are the way I used to link the sources.
-------------------------------------------------------
/user/theroot> esql -I/usr/informix/incl/esql -L/usr/informix/lib/esql \\
-lcgiusr -R/usr/informix/lib/esql cgi1.ec error.ec -o cgi1
cgi1.c:
error.c:
Linking:
/user/theroot>
-------------------------------------------------------
As you know, '-R/usr/informix/lib/esql' means 'hard-coded the shared lib
pathes' in the executable file. And it won't work.
If any, please show me the way.
Thank you for your reading. Happy new year~ :)
