Hello Folks, O/S AIX 6.1 IDS 11.70.FC8 I know there is a short ist of things/actions that do not play well with HDR. Does anyone have a list of such things? Thanx, Dan
Short indeed: - Dumb Blobs (BYTE & TEXT) stored in blobspaces (ie not IN TABLE) - Smart Blobs (BLOB & CLOB) stored in unlogged smart blobspaces (they are logged by default) - All data in an unlogged database - Any table in a logged database that is MODE(RAW) Art Art S. Thanx Art, Aren't there some alters that will not go across as well? Except for altering to or from an unlogged column type? I cannot think of any. In-place alters do not affect the secondary immediately except to change a flag on the table's partition header page, but as pages are actually updated to the new schema those changes are logged and soreplicated. There are two ways for a secondary to handle index builds, depending on an ONCONFIG parameter, but both methods are logged. Art Art S.
