Does DBPATH work for JDBC connections to SE 7.x database?

Hi.
I've been experimenting with the Weblogic type 4 JDBC driver against a SE
7.24.UC5 engine on Solaris 2.5/SPARC.
I set up a startup script in /etc/rc3.d that includes a DBPATH environment
variable and starts the server.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
#
# Start/stop processes required for Informix SE 7.x server
#
INFORMIXDIR=/export/home2/informix_se7; export INFORMIXDIR
PATH=$PATH:$INFORMIXDIR/bin; export PATH
INFORMIXSERVER=wendy_se; export INFORMIXSERVER
DBPATH=/tmp:/export/home/peter; export DBPATH
INFORMIXSQLHOSTS=$INFORMIXDIR/etc/sqlhosts; export INFORMIXSQLHOSTScd /tmp
case "$1" in
'start')
echo " Informix SE Server starting..\\n"
$INFORMIXDIR/lib/sqlexecd wendy_se
;;
'stop')
echo " Informix SE Server stopping...\\n"
;;
esac
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Using dbaccess and connecting to wendy_se server (defined in sqlhosts as a
tcpip service) the DBPATH environment var seems to be used; both test
databases are visible.
Connecting via the Weblogic drivers, they aren't. If I give the full path to
the database ("jdbc:weblogic:informix4:/tmp/test@my_toy:1525", "user",
"password") the connection goes through. If I just use the database name, I
get error -329. Same user/password as connecting via dbaccess. My conclusion
is that either the DBPATH variable in my startup script is being ignored or
I'm missing something bleeding obvious. Or there's a bug in the Weblogic
driver working with SE, but this isn't likely as it looks like a SE problem;
the driver finds the service OK.
Anyone got any ideas?
