my subselect2 and subselect3 are create view statements
means
select case when (select count(*) from tab1)>9 then
create view tab1_view1 bla bla...else
create view tab1_view2 bla bla....
end;
its throwing error at create view
CASE is only available in SPL or in the XPS (Extended Parallel Server) releases
(Informix 8.xx). Also, you cannot have DDL withing a DML statement an ANY
version of SQL of which I'm aware. Just writs a *(@#&$^ (*#$& stored procedure
and be done with it. These posts took you longer than writing the proc would
have!

Hi,
You can only execute selects depending on "case when", create view can
only be executed in a procedure.
