We just had to increase the number of processors from 4 to 6 in our primary HP9000/T500 and from 2 processors to 4 in our secondary T500 in order to to regain most (but not all yet) of the performance lost from moving "up" (sic) from 6.0 to 7.1 . The only positive thing so far that has come from moving to 7.1 is that replication finally works now. Don't tell me that our database needs "tuning" either.... we had an Informix engineer on-site all last week who confirmed that we already had the configs tuned about as optimally as they can get.
