Re: Cost of Sessions

You can information on these issues in several places, among the best of them: Liz Suto's seminal work "INFORMIX-OnLine Performance Tuning", now in its second edition. The ISBN for the 1st edition (the one that I happen to have in reach) is 0-13-124322-5. If this book is not available at your bookstore, you can have them order it. (If enough people do that, they'll come to stock it on the shelf.) Additionally, you can see the entire Informix Press library at the Informix Press web site at http://www.informix.com/ipress/ . The Informix class on performance tuning, information about which is available on the web site at http://www.informix.com/training . In that class you will receive hands-on training that informs you of the o/s and Informix tools for monitoring these and many other areas of interest. And it almost goes without saying that TFM includes many handy tricks for just such an interest. Manuals that spring to mind include the Performance Guide, DB/Cockpit User Manual, and the dog-eared Administrator's Guide.
