If your Internet feed is as full of brownouts, blackouts, and router outages as mine is at work (a Sprintlink feed) you'll probably be so aggrivated with this kind of "poor performance" that no performance at all will be the more pleasant alternative. 50+ dropouts a day is pretty frustrating and I just set up a friend's site who is using a UU Alternet feed and they're no better, in fact lately they've even been worse.
