Set the environment variable:
KAIOOFF=1; export KAIOOFF
in the environment before starting up the engine. You can put this into
the rc script that starts the engine at boot time or into an oninit.sh
script that you can run from the rc script and manually anytime the
server has to be bounced or, heaven forefend, crashes.
