I don't think it is a problem per se. How mission critical is the data? Are you taking other methods of recovery in to consideration like replication? or mirroring your disks? The recommended configuration is two tape drives, but hey, its your call. The cost of a tape drive is relatively cheap compared to consulting time or other hardware costs. Your the boss and the client pays for your opinion.
