Hi all, I have to identical Severs on Linux and INF940UC2! both have two NIC 1x global LAN, 1x HDR LAN(direct LINK) with user informix I am able to connect from each of them to the other with no password. after HDR restore an the secondary the HDR won't establish. What is wrong? Thanks Sven
Do you have establish the HDR setup as describes in the manual ?
A server that has been setuped as a standalone server can't be promoted to
secondary server.
The initial promotion to secondary is done while the server is in recovering
mode
1. make a backup of the primary "onbar -b -L0" or "ontape -s -L0"
2. set the primary up : onmode -d primary server1
2. rcopies the oncfg_server1.servernum and the ixbar.servernum files
3. do a physical restore on the secondary "onbar -r -p" or "ontape -p"
4. set the secondary up : onmode -d secondary server2
5. the synchronising starts with the restore of the last logged activities
since the full backup
look in the log file , if you see :
DR: Start failure recovery from tape ...
then type "onbar -r -l" or "ontape -l"
else you see
DR: Start failure recovery from disk ...
and you have nothing to do cause the last logged activities are still on
disk and are not overwritten.
So HDR will synchronise without restoring logging from tapes.
What's the status of HDR of both systemms : onstat -g dri
yves
(sorry for the html, it's not me, the format in outlook is "text", i can't
find)
