Hi Folks, Currently we run IDS 7.30 on HP Alpha server Tru64 Unix V.4, with row devices disks. We consider a migration to IDS 9.4 on AIX or Linux (IBM Machine). Good or Bad experiences ? What could you recommend/discard ? Good idea, we have good experience with Informix IDS7.31 on AIX. We have 2 Escala's from Bull (4cpu + 2cpu)in HA environment and Legato Networker for backup issues. About raw devices you have to activate it once on AIX. Read the appropiate machine notes about 'kio' and 'strload' Now we are testing IDS9.4, no migration problem. No idea how it would be with linux. yves ------_=_NextPart_001_01C34799.9DA91C60 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1"

RE: IDS on AIX/IBM's Linux [1543]

Good idea,

we have good experience with Informix IDS7.31 on AIX.
We have 2 Escala's from Bull (4cpu + 2cpu)in HA environment and Legato Networker for backup issues.
About raw devices you have to activate it once on AIX.
Read the appropiate machine notes about 'kio' and 'strload'

Now we are testing IDS9.4, no migration problem.
No idea how it would be with linux.

yves

------_=_NextPart_001_01C34799.9DA91C60--
