Re: Split comp.databases.informix!

snippety, snip... :-) :-) I think this is a GRRRRRREAT idea! :-) :-) I <don't> get my news from a list-server, and use a news browsing tool like :-) Netscape's News. This allows me to subscribe in a modern-technology-kind-of-way. :-) Using a list server would really clobber my email, as I'm sure it does for :-) those that use it. I can't imagine getting all these posts in email! Egad! :-) snip, snip... :-) > I wonder how the "informix-list" (Walt's mailing list) would cope with this :-) > though? I suspect quite badly :-( :-) > :-) :-) I could've predicted they'd have a fit... :-) :-) :-) It's amazing to me when a bit of technology is available to make things a bit :-) more organized, people prefer the sloppy messy approach... :-) :-) sigh... :-) Tim, I would dearly love to have the luxury of reading cdi on a newsgroup, but my employer (who provides my only access to the big wide world of the internet), does not have newsgroup access, so I have no alternative to receiving the whole of cdi (including your online arguments with Cheryl - Jeez, are you two married or something ;-)) via email. I would not like to see cdi split for all sorts of reasons. Little gems of wisdom can be found in totally off topic postings, and the people causing the problems that we are trying to solve would ignore the sub-divisions. If people post to c.d.*, all we are going to get is a copy of their crap in each of the new c.d.i.* groups. Cheers, Richard.
