dbiproxy on HPUX

Hello all I'm running a version of the dbiproxy server on our HPUX 10.20 9000 D370/2 box for our Online 5.10 database for our customer web site . The server runs fine, but after each connection to the database is dropped there are loads of <defunct> processes staying in the list ( 250+ after 2 hours ). I am sure that these processes are the sqlturbos' remains not being correctly terminated. Is there something I'm doing wrong ? or is it there some setup I have missed for the dbiproxy/DBD::Informix process ?. Thanks DJ.
