Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.

Hi,
=
is it possible to start IDS 7.31.xDx (and IDS 9.30.xCx) 'read-only' , e.=
g.
starting with all checks for chunks / physical and logical logs / open
transactions etc. but not writing anything back to disk.
It's clear that the IDS state can't be 'On-Line' afterwards, but that
doesn't matter.
=
Background: We have some large SAP systems (over 1 TB) with
external backup (BCV - disk mirror split). I would like to check the
consistency of the mirror disks, but I must avoid writing to them
because I need the original state in case of recovery to replay
logicol logs.
=
Possible solutions:
oncheck -pr : These checks seem to be insufficient (missing chunks not =
detected)
onbar -r -e -p : Starts up for recovery with checkpoint requested - the =only solution?
