The size is still limited to 2GB (on a 2k pagesize port) by the page addressing. The limitation on offset+size<= 2GB was due to lseek taking a signed long. On 32-bit platforms, this meant lseek couldn't seek past 2GB, effectively limiting your offset+size to 2GB. Some platforms used an unsigned long, which let you go as high as 4GB. On 64-bit platforms, this limitation went away. However, mentioned: the official *supported* limit is 2GB. > I haven't tried that stunt myself and I do know it isn't officially > supported.
