Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
First: There have been lots of problems with the current lately in 4GL.
At least some version 6.xx on SCO has given junk in values when current is used.
Informix has apperantly changed what function they call to get the current
date and time.
From the wording of your release notes (and similar information for other
machines) current should allways "work". That is it should return a usable
value. The problem is only to what precision. If your application depends
on the precision in some way (fraction(3) is to the nearest millisecond)
it may of course not work properly. This is of course hard for Informix
to solve if there is no way on your machine/os to get the current date/time
to that precision.
Whatever happens current must allways be supported, and shall never give
junk data back. Any other answer from Informix must be a communication
error between you and Informix support.
