Hello,
I have the following peculiar problem:
Informix 7.11 on Solaris 2.5, SS 20.
A few days back we had a major case of Out of Physical Log space problem
which caused the engine to do uncontrolled abort in the middle of a long
transaction. I added another chunk ( use cooked files!!) and tried to
run oninit when it went into a continuous Fast Recovery loop. Informix
dialed into our system and halted the loop. I tested the database and
found the some data to be corrupted, which I re-created from our data
files. The table it was working on has 100,000 records.
I have another table which is first dropped and then created using a
..sql file. When I try to manually drop the table using DBACCESS Choose
command I get the above ISAM Error, though I can see the table in TABLE
- INFO section. I am however able to run the .sql script in DBACCESS. In
that case I see the old name and also the new table of the same name.
The latter seems to be OK and I can query the structure etc. However, I
am just not able to get rid of the old table from the database. I dont
even know if it indeed exists.
Is this related to systables for the database ? We unfortunately have no
archives( app is 2-3 months old ). Will dbexport/dbimport work ?
Anxious for any solution....
Thanks,
Kris
