Most of us are bright enough to figure it out when you use the word 'matches' instead of 'games'. The fact that it was happening in Switzerland might have been a tipoff for some as well. >I could hardly believe my eyes when on the big match of the >weekend there was an 'Informix Way to Web' advert at the side of the pitch! >Shock! Horror! Adverts at international sporting events! Let's see if I can get this straight (as an American and all, there are things that I struggle with, like the meaning of 'top yourself')...... 'important international football matches' 'the big match of the weekend' and then you make this statement..... >But then again it >was Switzerland against the Faroe Islands! Perhaps you can understand my confusion..... By the way, I enjoy football/soccer very much. You just don't get to watch much of it in the states unless you have satellite TV. == Maintainer of the procrastinator's FAQ. Maybe I can clear up your confusion: Ian didn't say he went to see an important international football match, but rather that he went to see Switzerland - Faroe islands while in > >...Switzerland to visit friends, during a weekend of > >important international football matches, (that's soccer for the Americans > >out there!). In other words, Ian chose to go to Switzerland rather than wembley to see England-Germany, and who can blame him.
