dbexport problem

Morning
I recently had cause to run a dbexport routine on our Informix
database, and all files appear to have created correctly, apart from
one, whereby the bulk of the file is creating correctly, and complete
records are appearing on one line, until we get to near the end of the
file, when, without reason, some - but not all - lines appear to split
over a line.
Can anybody offer an explanation/resolution please
Many thanks
