Can not start Informix on Linux

Hi,
I have a informix server running on a virtual machine.
The host of this VM was hung and I had to restart (that means the VM did a
"forced power off"). After the reboot, when I issue the command "oninit -v",
this error showed:
Opening primary chunks...Bad Primary Chunk
'/data/informix/datawh/logs/chunkphys1'.
succeeded
Validating chunks...FAILED
oninit: Fatal error in shared memory initialization
The chunk belongs to physical dbspace.
My instance is corrupted ? How it is possible ? What can I do ?
I run Informix Server 12.10 FC4 in RHEL 6.4 64 bits.
The partition /data is ext3 (I use cooked files), and the configuration
parameter DIRECT_IO=1
Thanks in advance.
Run an "oncheck -cR" that should report a bit more detail on what's wrong
with that chunk. Going by its path and name, I'm guessing that's your
physical log chunk. Probably it suffered a partially written page when the
host hung and was forced to reboot. That would explain the validation
failure. One solution would be to call IBM's down system support line.
They can truncate the physical log and hopefully the remaining chunks are
OK, especially the logical logs, and the server will be able to start up.
How did it happen? Well, yes you were using direct_io on the VM, but the
parent OS was probably caching the "filesystem" that was mapped to VM and
some of the server's IO was never written out. Not a big fan of VM based
database servers, no matter what server that is. Give me bare iron every
time!

Hi, This is the output of onchek -cR: shared memory not initialized for INFORMIXSERVER '****' Validating IBM Informix Dynamic Server reserved pages Validating PAGE_PZERO... Validating PAGE_CONFIG... Validating PAGE_1CKPT & PAGE_2CKPT... Using check point page PAGE_2CKPT. Validating physical log pages ... Validating logical logs ... Validating PAGE_1DBSP & PAGE_2DBSP... Using DBspace page PAGE_1DBSP. Validating PAGE_1PCHUNK & PAGE_2PCHUNK... Using primary chunk page PAGE_2PCHUNK. Validating PAGE_1ARCH & PAGE_2ARCH... Using archive page PAGE_2ARCH. I know that the filesystem of vsphere is called VMFS, but I don't know if this uses a cache.
That's odd. Your physical log passes the oncheck. Definitely call IBM.
